Jamie Morales lives in Spooner with his wife, Amy, and their three active boys—Jesse, Max and Morgan. Jamie attended college at UW-LaCrosse and has been in the financial services industry for more than twelve years. He is currently employed by Community Bank. Jamie joined the Spooner Health Board of Directors in 2013. He is very active in the Spooner community serving on the board for the Spooner Area Chamber, Spooner Education Foundation as well as coaching and/or helping out with his children’s sports and activities. Jamie enjoys spending his free time camping, fishing, hunting and attending professional sports events.
Dr. Michael Knoepke grew up and finished high school in Cornell, WI. He attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Environmental and Public Health. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at Marquette University in Milwaukee in 1978. Dr. Knoepke and his wife, Mary, then moved to Spooner where he has been practicing dentistry ever since. Mike joined the Spooner Health Board of Directors in 2007. They have two children and three grandchildren. Dr. Knoepke was a member of the Spooner Lion's Club for over 20 years, and his outside interests include hunting, fishing, golfing, snowmobiling and watching football.
Dr. Mark Van Etten has been an active physician in Spooner since 1983, and he currently serves as Medical Director of Spooner Health and the Spooner Health Memory Clinic. He has been on the Board of Directors for Spooner Health since 2003. Dr. Van Etten and his wife, Dr. Beverly Bohac, have two adult daughters. During his free time, he enjoys running, Nordic walking and cross-country skiing. Dr. Van Etten currently serves on the Physicians Leadership Council of the Wisconsin Hosptial Association. His professional memberships include: AMDA (The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine) and its Wisconsin Chapter, WAMD; Wisconsin Medical Society; American Academy of Family Physicians and American Geriatrics Society. He’s been a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine since 1983 and has had a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatrics since 1994. In 2008, Dr. Van Etten became a Certified Medical Director in Long-term Care.
Adam Liegl joined the Spooner Health Board of Directors in 2009. Adam moved to Spooner after graduating college from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2002. Adam is a CPA at Anderson, Hager, & Moe in Spooner. Adam is also involved in the Knights of Columbus, Jack Pine Savage Days and volunteers time to coach Spooner Junior High Football. In his free time, Adam enjoys hunting, fishing, being outdoors and watching Packers and Badgers football.
Maureen lives in Spooner with her two children, Annabelle and Tyler. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Masters of Business Administration degrees from Drake University. She has worked in the retirement and financial services industry for over 25 years and is currently the Director of Major Accounts for Ascensus, a national retirement services firm. She served for nine years on the Spooner Area School District Board of Education and also on the Board of Directors of the Lakeland Family Resource Center. Maureen joined the Spooner Health Board of Directors in 2014. Maureen enjoys spending any free time with family and trying to keep up with her active teenagers.
Dr. Brian Gaskill joined the Spooner Health Board of Directors in 2016. He is a board certified Family Physician whom started full-time practice at Essentia Health- Spooner Clinic in 2008. He attended medical school at Oklahoma State University - College of Osteopathic Medicine and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005. Dr. Gaskill currently serves as vice-chief of staff at Spooner Health and Section Chair at the Essentia Health-Spooner Clinic.
Additionally, he serves as a trustee board member of the Wisconsin Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons. Outside of medicine his time is spent with his wife, Julie, and cultivating his 5 children - instead of growing grass in his yard. He is active in church as a trustee board member of Northern Lights Christian Center.
Leslie Arf, third generation board member, joined the Spooner Health Board of Directors in 2018. Her grandfather, Harry Dahl, originally helped fundraise the original construction of the hospital as a board member and her father, Mort Dahl, would later join as a board member as well.
Arf is the owner of Dahls Home Store, a family-owned establishment that has been in business since 1930. Her and her husband, Aaron, have two daughters
